Boomers berated young people for decades cuz of young people’s new cars and avocado toast.

But the really funny part is young people listened. They changed their spending habits. They do less retail shopping. They buy less alcohol than previous generations. They almost exclusively buy used cars.

And now all those industries are suffering. Boomers forgot that capitalism only works if people fucking spend money on things. Boomers wanted to be the only people who could buy a new Cadillac. And now they are. And now Cadillac makes no fucking money. And now Cadillac can only sell the Escalade, and it’s fucking $120k.
